Welcome to Leicester Forest Cycle Club "LFCC"

Leicester Forest Cycling Club is a well established and respected club drawing in membership from across Leicestershire.

We have a membership totalling 300+ including 48 Women members in 2017 and have riders taking part in a wide variety of disciplines including audax, mountain biking, road racing, time trialling, cyclocross, touring and much more.

The club holds a number of events throughout the year – see our calendar page for more details.

Our weekly club runs cater for different abilities, all starting from the Bulls Head on the A47 – see our club run page more details.

We have a strong junior Rockets group along with a growing female membership also, meaning we cater for almost anyone who enjoys cycling.

The main events of our week are the Saturday Club Run and the  Sunday Social.

For 'beginners'/newcomers or people who just don't know if group riding is for them, we have our Sunday Social. This is a shorter ride, usually from the same start point and to a closer cafe. Arrangements for this ride usually happen on our Facebook page Please get in touch if you're not sure which ride is for you.

So please have a look around and you'll get an idea of the sort of thing we are up to. If you want to become a member, or just want to go for a ride and see what it's all about, then get in touch.

Club History

The Leicester Forest Cycling Club is one of the most respected clubs nationwide. Since it was created by a group of enthusiasts in 1923 it has always been an organised, sensibly structured and disciplined club.

During this period of over three-quarters of a century it has produced many local, county and national champions in all aspects of cycle racing; time trials, road and track.

At the same time, many of the club's members have been well respected and efficient officials and administrators. For example, the LFCC organised the 1954 25 mile RTTC Championships and then in 1974 the RTTC 12 Hours Championship. Club members have also played major roles at Track Championships both at National and World level.

With rising fuel costs and an improved awareness of the benefits of a healthy lifestyle, our numbers are reflecting the boom in cycling and our membership has nearly doubled between 2008 and today. Our members interests include many aspects of cycling including Time Trials, Road Racing, Mountain Biking, Trailquest and Audax riding. New members are always welcome, so why not link up with one of the rides or contact the club secretary for more details. All that we ask is that you have a sense of humour and enjoy cycling!
